What lab does not do

lab has no accounts and no login, no database, and no contact form. It runs no analytics, no tracking and no advertising, and it sets no cookies at all. Nothing you type into a tool is sent to this server unless the tool's own section below says otherwise.

Hosting and server logs

lab is hosted by netcup GmbH (Daimlerstraße 25, 76185 Karlsruhe, Germany). Server access logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, browser info) are recorded automatically. Purpose: technical operation and error analysis. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. netcup privacy policy: netcup.de/kontakt/datenschutzerklaerung.php

Web fonts

Pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com), which means your browser contacts Google and transmits your IP address to do so. Purpose: consistent typography. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Google privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

Data kept in your browser

Some things are stored in your browser's localStorage. They stay on your device, are never transmitted to this server, and you can clear them at any time via your browser settings.

  • Theme preference — whether you chose the dark or the light theme.
  • Saved tool state — tools with a Save/Load function (e.g. Big text print) keep those templates locally.
  • Files you open in a tool — images and calendar files handed to Paint by numbers, Polarizer, Paper frame or the Calendar importer are processed in the browser and never uploaded.

Tools that reach a third party when you tell them to

  • Calendar importer — builds a pre-filled Google Calendar link from the file you dropped. The event data only reaches Google if you click that link. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
  • Spenden Barometer — queries the LNBits instance you configure yourself. That instance's operator is responsible for the data it holds. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
